Time For A New Trench

I have a white DKNY trench coat that I’ve had for a few years now, but it looked a little too shabby/chic a few days ago after a particularly bad downpour.  I got on the subway sopping wet, and started to notice that my once beautiful lightening white trench coat was a bit grayer, complete with permanent stains on the front and no belt (I lost the belt long ago.)  To complete the picture of sadness, let’s also add fraying at the cuffs and a crumpled collar.  It was dismal!

Still in love with the shape of the trench, lucky for me, DKNY still makes THE SAME EXACT JACKET.  I’m really into gray right now, but there is the always traditional black option as well.  What I also love about this jacket is that it’s lightweight, so I can wear it in the summer when it’s hot as balls, and also in the winter when I layer like crazy with sweaters.

So Close To Perfect

One thing (JUST ONE!) is wrong with this outfit.  Can you guess what one thing is wrong?  It’s obvious right?

What the f is Kate Hudson wearing around her neck!?  There is an old Italian legend that wearing a horn around your neck will prevent you from the evil eye…mayhaps Kate Hudson is now buying into this?  Otherwise, she looks damn good.

Orchids On Necklaces Are Just Beautiful

I have a y-necklace with these exact orchid shapes, and I adore it.  I hope some of you (many of you??) find the same happiness with this horizontal orchid beaute.

Yay Or Nay?

I’ll admit that when I first saw this dress, in my mind I was like “nay nay NAY!”  But then I kept looking.  And then I looked some more.  And it started to grow on me.  With boots?  With a red hat?  Rolled up sleeves and a belt?  Was my gut instinct right, or is my secondary thinking the winner here?  Yay or nay?

Sienna Miller Is A Vision In Ivory

Damn, girl.  You just had a baby and it doesn’t look like you did AT ALL.  This bangin’ Chanel dress certainly helps do the trick.  I could live without the bag, but the dress is so stunning I’m just gonna pretend like it’s not there!

Let’s Get Tall

Are you someone who likes to tower over others?  Or maybe you are a total shortie and need a giant platform just to make it to average?  Behold… A GIANT PLATFORM OXFORD!  I have these in black and brown, and now maybe it’s time to add gray…

Lena Dunham Thinks All This Hullabaloo About Her Outfit Is Because She’s Not Stick Thin

However….it’s not.  It’s just a bad outfit, plain and simple.  I could care less what your thighs look like, Lena, because I think you’re brilliant and awesome.  This is just a bad outfit.  The shoes, while TOTALLY ADORABLE, don’t match this shirt at all, and the necklace needs to be bigger and bolder when you wear this kind of top.

Also, on another note, how on earth can anyone think Lena Dunham is fat??????)

Something For Everyone

For some of you, this will be a shirt.  For others, it will be a dress.  Regardless of how it fits on you, it’s a great casual piece for fall/winter.  As a shirt, it will go great with black leggings (this piece appears to provide enough butt coverage to assuage even the staunchest of leggings-as-pants opponents.)  As a dress, it would look equally adorable with combat-type boots or purple flats.

Morning Shopping Binge

I had an Ann Taylor work-dress binge this morning.

I got off the subway and the “40% off” caught my eye.  Once there, I managed to find THREE dresses in twenty minutes that I totally love.  If that’s not efficient speed shopping, I don’t know what is.

Unfortunately, only one of the dresses I bought is on the AT website, and it’s featured below.  The other two were both on sale, but equally awesome.

NOTE FOR FOURSQUARE FOLKS: If you check in at Ann Taylor, you get 15% off.  BAM!

Music To My Ears

The brightness of this yellow dress is the star here.  It borders on neon, but doesn’t quite go all the way there, which means if the neon trend grinds to a halt, you can still rock this puppy no questions asked.
