GUYS BUYS: Don’t Be Afraid Of Bright Colored Pants

As many of my guy readers know, I am a BIG fan of dudes who wear bright colors.  But I also understand that the large majority of dudes want no part in wearing pink, purple or plaid pants.  But…what about this dark teal?  Isn’t this really a compromise?  Bright, but still earthy, and manly!

Vintage Cord in 484 Fit, J. Crew – $59.99 (was $75.00)

Fashion Meets Tech, Adorably

If you’re gonna buy yourself a pair of nice mittens for the upcoming winter season, PLEASE remember that if you have an iPhone, you will want to be able to use the phone while the mittens are still on, and to do that, you need a special touch technology built into your gloves.  I remember when this technology was only on completely horrible, boring and large gloves that were pretty fugly.  But in so many adorable colors, look how far the merging of fashion and technology has come!

ECHO Cashmere touch gloves, Bloomingdales – $88.00

Elisha Cuthbert Makes A Potato Sack Mistake

Let’s start at the feet and move up from there.  The shoes are great.  Wonderful.  I love the color and it even matches her earrings.  And then as we move up OHMYGOD.  Could this dress cut in a less flattering place?  And also, this is a prime example of a blue/black combo that does not work!  The bracelet only makes the train wreck worse.  I’m not familiar with Elisha Cutherbert’s fashion really, because she’s sort of a newer star and now that Happy Endings has really taken off, I expect we will be seeing more of her.  Hopefully the next photos will be, errr…improved.

TRENDING: Collar Necklaces

I saw collar necklaces on a few models during fashion week and thought “ok, that’s not something all of us can pull off,” but then I saw Amy Poehler in a collar necklace and did a 180 on this piece of jewelry.  I like to think of Amy Poehler as the average woman who just happens to be insanely rich and famous: if she can do it, by joe, we can do it, too!  Links to all the necklaces are featured below (top corner left clockwise.)

Pearlescent Link Collar Necklace, Forever 21 – $12.80

Metal Collar Necklace, ASOS – $21.11

Dannijo Collar Necklace, Shopbop – $695.00

Peter Pan Collar Necklace in Antique Brass, ACommonThread on Etsy – $40.00

Peter Pant Collar Bib Chain Choker, ForeverUrban on Etsy – $33.04

Blair Collar Necklace, Urban Outfitters – $29.99 (was $48.00)

Revenge: The Show With The Best Fashion On Television (Period!)

It’s a rare Sunday evening where my night doesn’t end with some sweet sweet Revenge, but due to the Oyster Bay festival, a lot of football games, and a large meal prepared by my mama, when I got home to Brooklyn all I could do was crawl into bed and fall asleep to reruns of Parks & Rec.

Last night’s episode of Revenge is sitting on my DVR, but this picture of Victoria in a gray Vera Wang wedding dress heightened my anticipation to a level I did not know was possible!  It’s simply stunning, and I say this as somehow who absolutely hates mermaid dresses.  The choice of gray is so perfect, a murky, sad color for a murky, sad sham of a marriage.

CAN’T WAIT.

GUYS BUYS: Country Boys

OATMEAL.  That is how I describe this sweater color.  It’s actually one of my favorite sweater colors for dudes.  It’s warm and cozy and makes me think of fall and cabins and hot chocolate and sitting around a fire.  This sweater turns even the most urban of men into country boys.

Roving Wool V-Neck Sweater, Club Monaco – $98.50

A Blazer State Of Mind

Blazers have been in for a few seasons now, but for the first time ever, I feel I need more than the three I have (which consist of two black blazers and an amazing oversized ivory blazer.)  What better blazer to add to your collection than one with a peplum!  This one is perfect for pairing with a pencil skirt (pair with a bright red pencil skirt for a bold look.)

Navy Ponte Peplum Jacket, Dorothy Perkins – $69.00

Lea Michele Starring In “Rock A Frock”

It’s bold statement time, folks: this is the best I’ve ever seen her look.  It’s sexy, but still classy.  I like that she did not overload this dress with a ton of jewelry (which could have made this go Real Housewives of Jersey real fast.)

Nice And Easy: My Ongoing Love Affair With Jean Leggings

This “easy jean” is as close as you’ll ever get to a socially acceptable pajama jean.  It’s some sort of skinny jean/legging hybrid.  It’s closer to a legging, but it’s still a jean.  I wore them yesterday for the first time and was SO DAMN COMFORTABLE!  Yes, they were $72.00, which sucks, a lot.  But it’s worth it when you come home from a long day of work and instead of putting pajamas on you reach for these.

Easy Jean, American Apparel – $72.00
